Description:  Today several railfans gathered from around Utah at Logan to watch the action on the local branchline. Sadly our local train was rather small today and didnt go all the way to Preston Idaho; however UP fired up their self powered crane for a trip back to Cache Junction, a very very pleasant surprise! Here UP 1736 begins its trip high hood forward. Also thanks to Bradley Ogden who via the internet would later inform us UP 1736 here was once UP 3340.

Description:  A five hour late Amtrak train #5 passing by the Kennecott Smelter in at early morning. An engine stalled out on Soldier Summit, and the train had to wait 5 hours for rescue helpers to arrive and put it back on track.
