| Description: |
The RUT 611 is one of Utah Railways true "road trains" which almost always uses six axle power as it travels from Provo to Ogden. Most of Utah Railways six axle power is still painted in their classic paint scheme, so it has been a goal of mine to catch this train in motion. Finally today my luck came together and I got to catch the 611 with a SD50 on the lead as it powered through Salt Lake City on the old Rio Grande main! |

A copper ore train bound for the Garfield Kennecott Smelter a few miles north east of here (OCLGD was the symbol) passing near the former site of Anacondas Carr Fork Mines copper loader spur. In the background is a factory that makes fish food using brine shrimp harvested from the Great Salt Lake. |
