Description:  Yesterday (1/22/2016) Spencer Peterson and Matt Paulson posted on the Utah Rail Enthusiasts Facebook page that UP 7400 was going to be coming from Hinkle Oregon to Roper Yard in Salt Lake City; by way of the Ogden Sub. I set out to catch her at Cache Junction, were I ran across another railfan; Kent Bankhead. The two of us waited; on opposite sides of the track as the southbound train with UP 7400 met with a northbound train at the siding. Here is a photo of the northbound train slowing down to park in the siding.

Description:  "The Flagship" the MWCNP arrived in Salt Lake with a train nearly two miles long. Shortly there after its counterpart the MNPWC would arrive in Salt Lake with a train longer than two miles. Both had to fit into North Yard at the same time and try and switch out their cars, yikes!

Title:  Westbound Stacks and Pigs at Erda
Description:  I was traveling between Salt Lake City and Tooele; when I caught this stack train (ISCLB-27) running through Garfield, Utah. I followed it down to Erda, where I was able to catch it highballing pass the Fassio Eggs feed silo. UP 8074 is on point, with three SD70M units (UP 4060, UP 5032, and UP 4712). It seemed like the train was at full track speed, all the way from Garfield down through Erda.

MNPWC At the Yard Portal
Title:  MNPWC At the Yard Portal
Description:  This monster train once it settled into North Yard, had one end sticking out on the main on the northern portal, and the head end sticking out on the main on the south end. This would not be a big deal if it was just here for a crew change... but the MNPWC drops off cars and switches a bit in Salt Lake City! Not to mention at the same time on the opposite main was the MWCNP also due to switch a bit in SLC. The switching moves pushed the train even further south down to the North Temple UTA station, and as night fell and we left, it got the signal to pull forward down into Grant Tower to continue its switching moves. These two monster trains probably gave the yard master a headache that night...
