A group of Utah Railway engines race through Spring Glen south of Helper on their way to the Savage coal loader. These helpers would become part of what could be one of the last coal trains on the Utah Railway. With their coal contract set to expire; and only a few coal trains scheduled in January; the Utah Railway is leaving the coal business for the time being. |

| Description: |
The RUT 611 is one of Utah Railways true "road trains" which almost always uses six axle power as it travels from Provo to Ogden. Most of Utah Railways six axle power is still painted in their classic paint scheme, so it has been a goal of mine to catch this train in motion. Finally today my luck came together and I got to catch the 611 with a SD50 on the lead as it powered through Salt Lake City on the old Rio Grande main! |
